About
Hi, I’m Jacob. I’m a postdoctoral researcher in Jill Banfield’s lab at UC Berkeley.
I work on microbes, massive datasets, and the kind of proteins that make structure predictors nervous. I build computational systems for metagenomics, protein structure, comparative genomics, and AI-assisted biological research.
I care a lot about using unusual biology for environmental bioremediation, especially mine pollution in the mountains of Colorado.
In my spare time, I make generative mathematical art and hunt for cool rocks.
